Stat Planet is a great website to use if you want to see different statistics from all around the world. There are a lot of things and topics that you can see and look at. It is a great website that contains a lot of information that is very useful.  

Bomomo

Bomomo is a great tool for creating wonderful masterpieces of art in a very creative way. If you ever feel like you need to quickly draw something in an easy way than Bomomo is a great one to use. Next time I want to make something that looks visually cool,  I know where to go.

Piktochart

Piktochart is a great website for making a quick graphic to easily display information in a fast and easy way. It doesn't take long and there is a lot of variety in creating your own info-graphic. The finished product is a clean and professional looking graphic that you can show to everyone. Overall my first experience with Pixtochart was a good one.

Journal

This year in Emerging Technologies I have learned about a plethora of things like stop-motion, however, the best thing I have learned would have to be the new photo editing websites that I have used. I would like to learn more web 2.0 tools that will help me in everyday things.

Pixton

Pixton is a great website to use when you want to make your own comic strip. It is a fast and easy process that gives you access to hundreds of different props, characters, and backgrounds. If you want a fast and efficient way to make a comic strip than Pixton is the way to go.

QR Codes

QR Stuff is a great website to quickly create a QR code that you can use instantly. QR codes are becoming something extremely popular in the world today. If I were you I would jump at this opportunity to make your own.

New Emerging Technology

Imagine a world where you never have to worry about your phone dying or any portable device that you own running out of a battery. Well we are coming into an age of technology where we are close to a wireless way of transferring power. There is something called Qi where you use two coils a transmitter and a receiver. What this does is generate a magnetic field to where the device and the wireless generator can transfer voltage. This idea is not far away from being accomplished, the idea was initially proposed by Nikola Tesla and it was the turn of the century. We are slowly entering a world where the impossible is now possible. The Oak RidgeNational Laboratory has shown how it can be done and close we are to making it available to everyone in the world.

There are many strengths to having this technology such as the ability to not have to plug in when charging and not have to wait until its 100% so you don’t overcharge the battery. You will always be with your phone while charging so it can always be monitored. Also there could potentially be the ability to eliminate the use of outlets as a power source. We could have everything be wirelessly charged from T.V’s to blenders or really anything that has a power source we could make camping completely different to the way it is right now. As there are strengths there are also weaknesses like how much battery you have to charge and how long it will take to get to 100%. There is also the weakness of other people trying to take control of your device and having a issue of privacy. There will be many opportunities like I said before about eliminating outlets and non-electrical camping. There are also many threats. The same technology could be used to make a tethered connection with phones that aren't yours and do things that aren't just charging but roaming on other people’s phones and looking at what they are doing live.

Dipity is a great web 2.0 tool to make interactive timelines with. Timelines are a great way to show people about the history of your topic. You can see the beginning to the end and all of the good details in between it all. It is easy to use and you will show people your topic easily.                                                                                      

Quizlet

Quizlet is a great Web 2.0 tool to study and learn for an upcoming test or just to learn something for fun. It is a fast and efficient way to make a study for a test the next day. It isn't boring with the multiple features to learn and you will always have more ways to learn.

Photo Editing

When I was photo editing I used six different websites, they were Photocat,Befunky,Picmonkey,iPiccy,Fotor,FotorFlexer. Picmonkey was a great website it allowed me to edit photos extremely easily and efficiently. I also loved how after I was done I could just collect all my photos into a collage. Befunky was also a great website that had certain options that other websites don't have. It was so fun and creative to sharpen all the pictures that I had. Photocat was an alright website, it didn't live up to the expectations of a good photo editing website. Although it was still a good website to use and I enjoyed all of the qualities it had. IPiccy was a great website to use and was phenomenal at making my pictures look better. Overall iPiccy was a good solid website to use. Fotor was a photo editing website that allowed me to do everything that I wanted to do. Fotor is a up and coming website that had wonderful features to make editing a phot easy and fun. Fotorflexer was the last website I used but it was not bad in quality at all. I was very pleased with the easy step instructions to use the website. My favorite website to use was befunky because of all of the the great features that it had. My least favorite was photocat because it was confusing and hard to edit.

ZooBurst

ZooBurst is a Web 2.0 tool that allows you to make fun pop up books that anyone can read. I think it is a great tool that everyone should use and I recommend it to anyone who wants to create a short story in a quick time.

Animoto

Animoto is a Web 2.0 tool used for creating short videos to give info or just make something entertaining for people to watch. It is is a very easy process to create one and anyone can do it. The steps that go in to making one are very easy to follow. I would recommend Animoto to anyone, just trying it once got me hooked on what everyone was talking about.

Glogster

Glogster is a great Web 2.0 tool to make a fun and creative poster that easily grabs peoples attention. We are in the modern era of creating posters and this is what it looks like. Colors and shiny things along with informational snippets on the side. It is a simple idea that is easy for anyone to accomplish no matter what age you are Glogster is becoming famously used worldwide.

Survey Analysis

From all of the responses that I got on my survey I was able to decipher that there is not a strong correlation between informing. age and knowledge of stem cells. Although between upperclassmen and underclassmen, most of the upperclassmen new more and what the controversy behind it is. I found it very interesting on how so many people had no idea what they were and had a tough time responding to the questions. Many people knew what they were but the decision was split on whether it was good or bad. Overall this survey has been very informing and I have learned a lot about what people know which is very good to know. Everyone who answered to why it was controversial was on the trail of getting it right so very informational. I now know how much people are being informed about this atrocity in the world right now. 

Wordle and Tagxedo

Wordle is a great tool to be creative while trying to get your point across too. There are a surplus of combinations that you can do to make yours look as good as you want. This Web 2.0 tool is one that is slowly becoming one of the most popular ones that people in school use because teachers see it as a the best way to do things. Tagxedo is also a great tool to display words in a fun and creative way. There are many additional things that you can do that Wordle doesn't.

Survey

Google Forms is a great way to survey people in a fast and efficient way. It isn't hard to use and is a tool that can get information you need as fast as you need it. Overall my experience with Google Forms was one that I liked.

Bubbl.US

Bubbl.us is a tool used to mind map anything you want. You can start with a broad topic and detail it down to where you can see the topic as a whole. Overall bubbl.us is a great tool that I would recommend to anyone.

Symbaloo

Symbaloo is a Web 2.0 tool used for having multiple shortcuts on one home page. It creates a fast and efficient way to get to the websites that you use on an everyday basis whenever. Symbaloo is the new way to bookmark your favorite websites.

Prezi

Prezi is a great tool for presenting presentations whenever you need to. It contains qualities of a power-point but has a more creative aspect to it. Prezi is an easy tool and makes it easy to present in front of anyone that you need to.
